ORA activities

Organic Retailers Association (ORA) is active in various fields.

Since its foundation in 2004 ORA has primarily engaged in professionalization measures for Organic Retailers. With the development of the ECO QUALIFY SYSTEM in cooperation with EU’s leading experts, ORA has implemented a comprehensive tool for vocational training in this sector.

Beginning with QUALIFICATION STANDARDS for staff and management, followed by the QUALITY ASSURANCE SYSTEM and QUALIFCATION HANDBOOK for Trainings Institutes and Trainers (including Certification System), now followed by the DEVELOPMENT AND INSTALLATION OF THE ECO QUALIFY IT-PLATTFORM for online vocational training (end of 2012).

ORA is taking initiative to integrate this new training offer into the IFOAM ACADEMY and thus offering its benefit to the IFOAM network.

There will be continuous development of more E-learning units in the years to come. ORA’s current EU innovation transfer project based on ECO QUALIFY into Bulgaria, Greece, Romania and Turkey is an important indicator for the need of capacity in organic retailing world-wide.
